Testimonials

College & collaborator, Oakland, California

She has provided space for healing, joy, reflection and empowerment for people of color and womxn. She is able to do this successfully both domestically and internationally.

Cammie works with communities to push back against anti-black racism to create healing and community development. In every aspect of work she is intentional and understands the importance of intersectionality as it relates to power in community spaces. She provides the tools and space to build meaningful and accessible connections with people.

It is a gift to work with someone like Cammie. She is efficient and brings innovative solutions to complex issues. She does all that while being empathetic and creates an environment for authentic connections.

Community collaborator & colleague, Nyc / Bard College

I've worked alongside excellent practitioners and I rarely see the kind of intuitive leadership Jones delivers. In the background, she seamlessly manages a logistical web of deadlines and documents to reach her goals. In the foreground, Jones oversees a culture where teammates thrive, where work runs smoothly, and questions are answered with deliverables. Yes, Jones can get a team to meet their north star, but she's going to do it with integrity, and that's left a lasting impression on me.

Harlem community partner, manhattan borough president’s office

Cammie and I worked together to recruit participants for an exciting teacher professional development opportunity during the Summer of 2021. She is an innovator who conceptualized an opportunity for teachers to develop new relationships with spaces proximate to their schools and incorporate those relationships into their curricula, thereby opening the door for high quality, culturally responsive pedagogy to take place in several schools in Manhattan. From conception to execution, Cammie was thoughtful, organized, dynamic, knowledgeable and deliberate as she brought together community leaders and experts to holistically develop this experience.

Student-Leader, Barnard college

I was very fortunate to work in the Office of Community Engagement under Cammie; not only was she an effective leader, but she was also a great inspiration. One of my projects we collaborated on was a live-streamed conversation with President Sian Beilock of Barnard College and NY Congresswoman Grace Meng about the impact of COVID-19 on the AAPI community. Our goal was to bring awareness to the violence and xenophobia that Asian Americans were facing and to teach the Barnard community how to practice anti-bystander action. Even though I was only a freshman when we worked on this project, Cammie believed in me and supported me every step of the way. She showed me how to email/reach out to different politicians to ask for potential collaborations. She taught me how to write scripts and ask effective questions to keep the conversations going. Most importantly, on days when I was especially nervous about the success of the project, she encouraged me and told me that she believed in me. Cammie equipped me with the skills I'd need to succeed in any industry. She inspired all her student workers to be independent, creative, and self-starting. Cammie is an extremely great leader who I'd be most fortunate to work with again.

STEAM in the City program coordinator, Barnard College

I grew immensely as a professional from working closely with Cammie. She brings both attentiveness to local needs and perspective from global experience to the table, and is uniquely methodical in building sustainable long term plans for organizations that speak to both of these values. Above all, Cammie consistently centers building, nurturing and honoring relationships in her civic engagement leadership; her commitment to sincerity within strategy truly sets her apart as an expert in the field.

OSUN Teaching Assistant, BARD COLLEGE

As the teaching assistant for the OSUN Women and COVID-19 course during the summer of 2021, I was fortunate to work under Cammie’s guidance as the course instructor. While she had previously led this course with another instructor, she was incredibly insistent on including me in all elements of the course including further developing the syllabus and contacting guest speakers. Throughout the development of this course, she was passionate about highlighting many different topics and communities to present to our students. This was especially pertinent considering that our students were from numerous countries around the world, many of which were changing vastly while this class was occurring. During this course, she also provided learning opportunities for me to further develop as an educator through supporting me as I created my own lesson plan and assignment as well as various activities during weekly office hours. Cammie also established groups for these students called Communities of Care which facilitated connections between these students both academically and personally. This initiative greatly supported continued connections between the students even after the course had concluded.
